Long journey

Getting a correct diagnosis
can be a long journey.

Many people throughout the world are struggling in search of a diagnosis.

The waiting

This long journey can last
even from 5 to 30 years.

Diagnosis often serves as the key to unlocking access to effective medical care.

Incorrect diagnosis

During that time 40% get
an incorrect diagnosis.

There is a risk of having another child suffering from the same condition.

We found that

living without diagnosis can be

debilitating

Feelings of isolation Lack of sleep Heartache
Stress Feeling of exclusion Depression

We designed a platform that can change patient’s life.

Diagnosticc is a solution for people in the process of seeking a diagnosis, helping them form a small groups, making their lives less stressful and much more productive. Lastly giving them opportunities to talk with doctors from all over the world.

Patient's life

People dealing with similar symptoms as yours are there.

Our studies found out that people can get to know more about their disease from people that all over the world dealing with similar problems. Often it helps to fasten the diagnosis process as well as deal with the symptoms.

Are you a doctor? You’re
invited to be a part of the
international e-consilium.

We allow users to book an online visit with multiple experts - doctors of a different specializations - e-consilium. Our network of doctors and diagnostic assistants operates worldwide. Every day supporting diagnosys process of thousands of diseases.

Week 1 - Research and Discovery
Week 1 - Research and Discovery

In Week One we focused on
conducting desk research &
user interviews.

You need to be well prepare for the sprint if you don’t want to waste
your time and resources. The main goal of the first week is to carry out
5- 10 indivudual interviews with potential end users.

Gather insights, get to know their problems and needs.
Additionally, we kicked-off the designers team with comprehensive
desk research, analysis of trends and searching for a business model.

Project's card

During the first week there is a spot for Problem Framing workshops (4h).
We started by filling project’s card by answering some of the important
questions. Finally, agreeing of the potential project direction.

What is the project's main goal?

Help to speed up the diagnosis process.

What is the success of this project?

Building the community (10 000 people in a year).

What do people pay attention to when choosing solutions?

Comprehensive information and privacy.

Desk research

We conducted complex desk research (10+ IDI’s, and other research
studies
) to see what do people say about the topic of finding
diagnosis.

I have a lot of questions about
how to start after diagnosis.
Waiting for a diagnosis can be
a mental nightmare!
The big problem is being "alone" in the
search for a diagnosis and during illness.
It's difficult to search among many
scattered groups on the Internet.

Trends analysis

Our trends analysis showed that medtech industry digitalization is
made only in 1%. Technology is becoming present and is starting to
make a huge role in today's medicine and diagnostic.

Business model

The estimated value of the e-health market is $508.2 billion by 2025.

Packages

The companies create advanced packages of
medical solutions for patients who will send them
the results of their tests based on which treatment
method is selected.

Box model

Manufacturers provide the product in the form of
e.g. a wristband for the use of a one-time invoice
and providing a free application.

Subscription model

The subscription model is currently the biggest
trend. Companies create software and collect
monthly fees for using the virtual database.

Week 2 - design workshops
Week 2 - design workshops

We defined problems and
made solutions.

During Design Sprint there are no spectators - only participants.
Everyone is preparing his own solutions. We start the week with two
full day-long workshops
for the whole team. Various exercises are
included in this process in our monthly formula (voting, grouping,
indivudual work, sketching & co-creation).

Design Challenges

First of all we defined problems using classical Design Sprint exercises.
We saved all ideas on post-ites and then voted to choose the best.

HMW How can we
Provide value to a person at
the beginning of the path of
seeking a diagnosis?
Within 2 years... We want 50 people to find a
diagnosis (verified with a doctor)
through our direct portal.
Can we...? Really help in communication
between a doctor and a patient in
the process of diagnosis?

Storyboard

Thanks to the storyboard drawing process, we received a several versions
of the flow of application. We voted on the best solutions.

First prototype screens

The whole team prepared screens of their prototype. We were able to
gather preliminary sketches for the further final concept.

Week 3 - Prototyping Sprint
Week 3 - Prototyping Sprint

Week Three was dedicated
to create stunning prototype!

Now it’s a time for big guns. A lot of work, only five days and a few
designers who, working together, tried to work out as much as
possible.

We choose together the 3-5 of the most important screens in order to
design them in magnificent detail & quality of design. The final
deliverable of this week - a clickable prototype that you won’t be
afraid to showcase even for the most demanding companies.

E-consilium concept emerge

Our product evolved at this stage. Currrent concept - build network of doctors and
diagnostic assistants that operates worldwide. Our goal: validate how many doctors we are
able to invite to cooperation. Every feature is carefully designed.

Finding similar people concept

The second value proposition is also followed by other designers.
We would like to verify how many people will be keen to search for similar
people & similar symptoms to get to know more about their disease.

Mobile app touchpoint

One of our assumptions was to validate if a mobile application would
be more engaging for people. Since we have a lot of medical appointments,
the patient had a history of his treatment on hand.

Interactive prototypes

We needed to create a prototype that gives the feeling of real
application.
This significantly increased the quality of our tests with users.

Week 4 - Delivery Sprint
Week 4 - Delivery Sprint

Week Four was the launch
of the ship.

Last week it’s all about data driven tests.
We are creating Landing Page which presents the designed solution.
With paid traffic from Facebook ads campaing we were able to verify
the concept on the broader audience.

It was all about collecting as much feedback as possible on the
solution developed - both from the patient point of view as well as
doctors (researching their engagement for the concept). We also
summarized the whole process.

Insights from Tests

Thanks to cyclical tests with users on the run, we verified our
assumptions and what we created.

Possibility of gathering e-consilium with specialist from all over
the world was stunning "Why no one thought about this before?"
Currently I am forced to seek help withing my natives, with this
tools it would be almost limitless
It seems like another possibility to find my diagnosis. If there is
even a small chance of getting closer, then why not using it?
